For modern cars, including trucks and off-road vehicles, it is very important to install a rear camera. If you need reversing assist, will you choose a wireless rear camera or a traditional wired rear camera.
The key differences are below:
Applicable Vehicle Types
Wired rear camera need complex wiring installation and often used for those vehicles pursue stability such as commercial fleets and long-distance transport vehicles.
Wireless rear camera is easy to install and can be connected via 2.4GHz or WIFI signals. The biggest highlights is the flexible disassembly so that
it’s popular among ordinary family cars, SUVs, 4x4 off-road vehicles and rental cars.
Installation Difference
A wired rear camera requires professional wiring work. Technicians need to run video cables and power cables from the rear camera all the way to the in-car monitor. For trucks and long-body vehicles, the wiring route is long and complicated. It takes more time to install, and may damage the original interior trim of the car.

Signal Stability & Image Quality
Traditional wired rear camera uses physical cables to transmit signals. Its connection is stable all the time. It rarely has signal delay, screen flicker or signal loss problems. No matter on bumpy off-road roads or long-distance driving, it can always deliver clear and smooth real-time images.

Wireless rear camera relies on wireless transmission. High-quality wireless models have greatly improved signal stability in recent years. However, in some complex environments with strong electromagnetic interference, slight signal lag may occur.
